Step Three - "What happens when we fail?"
|
Holding on means not giving up. How many times have you said to yourself? "I just can't take it any more!" When the pressures of life began closing in around us, knowing we can turn to someone is a lifeline in a times of trouble. Christ is there, he knows our fears, our pain, the trials we face every day. HE also knows our limit and the way of escape. Getting up after we have fallen is a lot easier when we have an outstretched hand just waiting for us to grab.
Hebrews:4:14-15: Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

Some of us may think we are born perfect, some of us know we are perfect - it's everybody else that's wrong. Only when we see ourselves through God's eyes can we see our faults and failures and failures must be dealt with before we can continue with our walk. This is when we must go back, back to the failure and ask Jesus to forgive us. By confessing our faults before the Lord we can restore a right relationship with the Father and once again Hold Fast our profession.
