Step One - "Let Us Fear"

Not the fear of someone holding a club over our head, ready to strike at the slightest mistake but the fear one would have of disappointing someone near and dear to us. We fear the bully in school differently than we fear those closest to our heart.

Satan would like nothing better than to point a finger at God, to try and put us in a position of questioning HIS love for us.

Hebrews:4:1-10:
Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest. Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief: Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.

I can remember the times when I did something wrong and knew I would have to face my parents. One of the greatest blessings in life is knowing someone will forgive us when we have done wrong. We never know this blessing or the peace that comes with our confession until we face the Sin in our lives. Only by telling the ones we have wronged can we enter into that peace. Jesus is no different, when we truly confess our wrongs, HE is waiting with open arms to forgive us, to guide and teach us. Like a father or mother who can see so much farther than us when we are young, God is infinite, able to see from the beginning of time to the ends of eternity. The more we know about HIM, the more we Love HIM, the more we Fear displeasing HIM by disobeying HIS wishes for us.
